Our mission: To empower and strengthen those affected by amputation or limb difference through peer mentorship, education and community.

Amputee Peer Support Group

The AMPOWER Amputee Peer Support Group consists of a nationwide network of trained peer mentors who have successfully recovered and rehabilitated following an amputation.  Mentors are available to speak face-to-face, over the phone, via skype or facetime, through e-mail or through our private, password-protected online web community.

Limb Loss ​Educational Resources

The AMPOWER team has collected a variety of important information and resources to assist amputees, family members and care providers in adjusting to life after limb loss.  Learn about what to expect after amputation, how to prepare the home, how to navigate through insurance issues, how to find a clinician and much more.

Community Events for Amputees

Building community is much more than belonging to something.  It's about doing something together that makes belonging matter.  Find out how you can engage with the community through participating in amputee specific events occurring nationwide.

Hanger Clinic supports the AMPOWER Program by:

·   Allowing Hanger Clinic employees time off to perform AMPOWER, TSN or Amputee Coalition peer support visits
·   Making in-kind contributions with training, development, educational materials, brochures, videos, etc.
·   Sponsoring EmpoweringAmputees.org, an advertisement-free, online e-community for patients, care providers and family members.
·   Funding a small number of employees to help coordinate and facilitate the program.
